Summary of Job Purpose and Principal Duties
Part time 0.4 FTE
 
The position is part-time for two days per week, Thursdays and Fridays, working both on the City Campus offering in person appointments and also remotely.

A professionally qualified and experienced counsellor is required at the University of Dundee Counselling Service. The vacancy is for a flexible and adaptable person with excellent communication skills at all levels who is able to respond to the demands of the counselling service. You must be able to work independently and as a member of the team.

You will carry an individual caseload, working with a brief time limited model, contribute to the delivery of wellbeing initiatives and play an active part within the counselling team. The work will involve assessing clients, deciding on whether further sessions would be helpful, managing risk as well as possibly some group/workshop delivery.

You will be BACP (or equivalent) accredited or be eligible for accreditation with appropriate post qualifying experience. You will have a clear understanding of the application of counselling in a HE/FE institution. You will be positive and committed and have an awareness and sensitivity in working with a culturally diverse client group.

Applicants must provide a personal statement outlining how they meet the requirements of the job profile.

The format of the interview will be both presentation and interview panel.  
 The post is due to commence as soon as possible.
